Donut Peach

This is Lucy:

This is a Donut Peach:

Matt can't seem to tell the difference. Is it just him, or do these two items have an uncanny resemblance?

Both are sweet and ripe, both are squat and plump, both have a lovely, kissable fuzz.... actually... I am starting to get confused!

Success!

Our first week back to work and into daycare went very smoothly. I love my new schedule and hope to keep it this way for as long as I can. Lucy only took 8 ounces of milk the first two days, but today she figured it out and drank 12 ounces (3 bottles). I am pumping milk at work, which is a whole new experience- a little awkward at times. Motherhood has given me super multitasking skills so its not too much of a hassle for me. However, washing bottles each night is sort of a pain.

Lucy has also fallen into a groove with the routine- when we get home we try to eat dinner and give her a bath by 7 ish, then she zonks out. She slept through the night after her first two daycare days (7:30 pm till 6:30 am). Cross your fingers for me that she does it again tonight. I think playing with Evie and seeing all the big kids come and go must really wear the girl out!

We are headed to Spokane this weekend to celebrate our 6 year wedding anniversary. Grandpa Dick and Grandma Connie are keeping the kiddos overnight so Matt and I can have a wonderful night out on the town. We are thinking: A fun cocktail at the Davenport, sushi at Raw, and then we are headed to the Hotel Lusso. And no, we aren't having any more babies.

This turned into a long post. Thanks for reading,

Shay

Baby bald spot

Lucy has some interesting things happening with her hair. In the back, its still pretty dark, with a prominent bald spot. In the front, its coming in lighter. I guess all babies go through the awkward hair-growing-in period.

A Milestone

Lucy laughed for the first time yesterday. It was a full on belly chuckle. I was tickling her and she burst into giggles. It was a wonderful moment. There is nothing better than a baby laughing. I am going to try to capture it on video.

Well I am back to work "for real" tomorrow. I will just be working part time, but that means being away from Lucy and Gus 27 hours each week. I have the bottles lined up in the fridge, my clothes picked out, and meals planned. I am all set, but all the preparing in the world won't make it any easier. Wish me luck.

Camping on the Chewuch

Gus and Jake, playing in the Ponderosa.

Lucy wrapped up tight-- she's a great camper.

Our friends joined us for a camp-out on the scenic Chewuch River, just north of Winthrop. The new tent trailer passed the test as we had two major thunderstorms come through- one with large hail. It was too chilly to put our feet in the river, but we all had fun and the kids got along very well. The fresh air (it was smoky in Oroville due to the Nespelem fire) was just what we all needed.

Lulu

Lucy has some blond hair growing in. Maybe I won't have a dark-haired child after all.

Lost Lake

We took our new tent trailer on its Maiden Voyage this past weekend- to Lost Lake- and had as much fun as a family of four could possibly have. Gus and Lucy are both great campers. We are all about "RB'ing" as Gus calls it (not RV, but "RB").
